$10.5M aircraft parking ramp commissioned at Ogle Airport

The Ogle International Airport (OAI) has invested some $10.5 million into the construction of a new aircraft parking ramp for small aircraft operators that do not have access to permanent hangar facilities.

The parking facility is located near the Caribbean Aviation Maintenance Services (CAMS) Hangar.
During the simple launching ceremony on Wednesday, CAMS Chief Executive Officer Anthony Mekdeci explained that the small operators were accustomed to parking their aircraft at other private facilities.
Public Infrastructure Minister David Patterson, who was present during the ceremony, lauded the Airport for yet another achievement.
“This is a good initiative, hopefully it will encourage them to keep performing,” he stated.
The aircraft ramp can accommodate a maximum of 10 light aircraft weighing a maximum of 11,363 kilograms (25,000 pounds).
The ramp has been constructed approximately 500 feet away from the Airport’s main runway and has direct ramp access to the main taxiway to the runway.
The facility is fully equipped with electricity and water supply.
