16 teams to contest Bartica Guinness in the Streets Football

The final Zone in the 2017 Guinness Greatest of the Streets football competition will kick off in Bartica this weekend with sixteen teams battling for top honours and a chance to compete in the grand finals.
The tournament will kick off on this evening with six matches at the Bartica Community Centre tarmac starting at 19:00 hours.
The opening fixture will bring together Almanac Kings against Time Square to be followed by Campbellville battling Street Kings at 19:30 hours.
River View will square off with Lotto Arcade at 20:00 hours while thirty minutes later Plantain Slice oppose Young Guns.

Bartica is expected to have red-hot football action this weekend

Police will face Beacon One Love at 21:00 hours while the final game of the evening will feature All Stars against Beacon Die Hard at 21:30 hours.
Two more preliminary matches will be played on Saturday featuring Potaro Strikers against Lazio at 19:00 hours to be followed by Impact versus Ballers before the quarter final matches.
The semi-finals and finals are scheduled to be played on Sunday along with the third place playoff and several exhibition matches.
The winner will advance to represent the mining community in the grand finals billed to next month featuring the top zone teams from Georgetown, East Coast Demerara, Linden, Berbice West Demerara/East Bank Demerara.
Guinness Brand Manager Lee Baptiste said that fans in Bartica can expect an exciting weekend of football.
“We expect an exciting tournament and the residents of the community will prove that they are “Made of More” as they support the teams in their quest for glory,” he added.
The winners are set to receive $400,000 and the championship trophy, while second, third and fourth placed finishers collect $150,000, $75,000 and $50,000 respectively.
