Camptown FC Jason Williams scored a stunning goal in the 88th minute to pull his side from the jaws of defeat and salvage a draw against Riddim Squad on the opening night of the second annual Petra Organised Limacol Round Robin Knock-out Football Tournament.
Playing at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) on Monday under the night sky, both sides produced a frenetic first half, failing to string together any complete offensive plays  to breach the opposition’s defence.

It was only until the second half that the intensity in the match picked up as was evident in the positive passage of play henceforth.
The 82nd minute proved to be the game changer for the Mocha-based Riddim Squad, as the deadlock was broken via a Teon Jones goal.  With the clock ticking away, it seemed all certain to be the winning goal until Camptown responded with the late strike to take an equal share of the points.
Similarly, the first match of the night was limited to a draw as Mahaica Determinators and Guyana Police Force FC battled to 2-2 score line. A brace from Eion Abel led the Mahaica team while Police responded through goals from Dwayne Charles and Quincy Holder.
The Tournament will continue on Thursday at the same venue with Georgetown Football Association’s top side Western Tigers battling New Amsterdam United from 18:30h followed by the youthful Santos FC suiting-up against  Ann’s Grove United from 20:30h.
