Aaron’s helmet-trick leads Sir Leon’s Lesson dominance

Adrian Aaron netted a stupendous helmet-trick to lead Sir Leon’s Lesson to a crushing 13-0 victory over Brickdam Secondary when the Petra Organised Milo School’s under-18 Football Championship continued on Saturday at the Ministry of Education Ground, Carifesta.

Aaron etched his name on the score sheet in the 3rd, 27th, 32nd and 66th in his team’s onslaught while Meshach Barratt helped himself to hat-trick, netting in the 1st, 33rd and 42nd minutes.

Goals by Amonick Muir (6th), Richard Rayside (26th) an Own Goal (40th), Shamar Carrington (44th), Dante Yannick (47th) and Dexter Blue (64th) were the others to cash in on the goal spree.

Queenstown Secondary also had a fruitful outing as they defeated, Christ Church Secondary 5-2, with Jermaine Padmore helping himself to a hat-trick via goals in the 54th, 56th and 67th; Daniel Ross (5th) and Shaquan Stephens (30th) were the other two men to reach the back of the net. For the opposition, Patrick Joseph (21st) and Andre Paul (68th) netted in a losing cause.

Similarly, Carmel Secondary enjoyed success as they also won 5-2 against Richard Ishmael with Shaquille Baptiste and Randy Roberts combined braces being the principal scorers. Baptiste netted in the 9th and 15th while Roberts scored in the 45th and 47th; Stefan Duke also scored in the 18th. For Richard Ismael, Closson McLaren (21st) and Sherwin Luke (51st) scored goals.

Meanwhile, in the closest match of the day, Godfrey Weeks 34th minute goal helped South Ruimveldt edge Cumming Lodge 1-0.

Today, North Georgetown will oppose School of the Nations from 11:00h followed by Dolphin Secondary and Central High from 12:30h. Mae’s Secondary will then lock heels with Tutorial High from 14:00H after which the headline match will be Queen’s College against St. George’s High at 15:30h.

Thirty-two secondary schools are competing for the $500,000 first prize, while second, third and fourth place finishers will pocket $300,000, $200,000 and $100,000 respectively, that goes towards a school project.
