Alleged bike thief hauled before courts

Just a few days after he appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman, Lester Hopkinson was brought before the court of Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on Wednesday morning, slapped with two charges of larceny.
It is alleged that the defendant between September 25, 2017 and September 26, 2017 at Kitty, Georgetown, while in the company of another, stole one motorcycle valued 0,000, property of Virtual Complainant (VC) Alanzo Warner.
The Police are further alleging that Hopkinson stole another motorcycle valued at 0,000, property of Compton Grimes, on August 13, 2017 at Kitty, Georgetown.
The defendant told the court that he was oblivious of the charges pressed against him by the State.
Bail was set in the sum of ,000 on each charge and Hopkinson was ordered to return to court on October 25, 2017.
As Hopkinson pleaded for a reduction of bail, Magistrate Azore assured that if by the stipulated date the prosecution’s file was still incomplete, a bail reduction would be considered.
Police Prosecutor Simone Payne led the prosecution’ case.
