“Awe Guyana”A satirical television production in time for Mashramani

GEMS Theatre Productions, with support from IPED Creative Industries Fund, presents “Awe Guyana”; a new half-hour satirical television production for the Mashramani holidays.a s
This is the first satirical television programme to be presented for the Mash holidays in keeping with ‘the satirical season’ of stage productions and Calypso competitions. “Awe Guyana” takes a look at some of the current and recent past issues and situations in the country and provides laughter.
The programme is directed by Gem Madhoo-Nascimento, with assistance from Randolph Critchlow and features Nurriyyih Gerrard, Chris Gopaul, Lyndon “Jumbie” Jones, Mark Kazim, Maxwell Massiah, Simone Dowding, Randolph Critchlow, Marissa Morgan, Shevon Henry, Kirk Jardine and newcomer Russhell Carol. Also featured are children from Purple Arts Children’s Workshop; Antoine Grant and Rondell Rawlins.
The programme was made possible through sponsorship by the business community. These entities include IPED, Gafsons Industries Ltd, NPI Communications, Sandy’s Funeral Home, Transpacific Motor Spares and Auto Dealers, Churches Chicken, Sankars Auto Works, Farfan and Mendes, Real Value Supermarket, ANSA McAL Trading and Hand in Hand Group of Companies.
The programme started on Wednesday last and will continue this evening on HBTV9 at 19:00h and E-Networks at 21:00h. There will be a rebroadcast on Saturday, February 25 on MTV-65 at 18:30h and on CNS 6 at 20:00h and finally on Sunday, February 26 on MTV-65 at 18:30h, HBTV-9 at 19:00h and NCN-11 at 20:30h.
