weeks has inundated grounds around the country rendering many unplayable.
In fact, two other matches in the association’s senior league were scheduled after this match but were called off by the referee as rain throughout this U17 encounter left the field in a waterlogged state.
Wales, one of the minnows in the association looked very enterprising at the beginning of the match to the extent that they took the lead in just the 2nd minute of play, Enrico Johnson doing the honours of giving his side the early advantage.
Despite dominating play from around the quarter hour mark, Beavers was just not able to put the ball into the back of the nets as their shots went wide or over the bar in slippery conditions.
The advantage was Wales’ for all of 61 minutes before a sudden rush of goals from Beavers put the game beyond the reach of Wales despite a late fight back. Telbert Baptiste fired in a hat-trick for the winners with strikes in the 61st, 69th and 85th minute his goal spree was interrupted by teammate Courtney Liverpool who added their third goal in the 73rd minute.
The three unanswered goals by Beavers in a 12-minute burst stunned Wales momentarily. They were able to fire back with two late goals off the boot of Dan Batson in the 87th and 90th minute but it was not enough to deny Beavers taking full points.
