Berbice basketball tournament resumes

The Berbice Amateur Basketball Association 2017 Basketball Tournament which is sponsored by president of the Guyana Basketball Association Nigel Hinds will resume on Sunday, June 25, with the Rose Hall Town Jammers opposing Hopetown Stealers at the Hopetown Basketball Court from 16:00 hrs.
Last weekend the opening encounter of the tournament between the Canje Knights and Fyrish Black Sharks resulted in a walkover for the latter at the Fyrish Court.
The President of the Berbice Basketball Association (BBA) Vibert Garrett, said that the system currently being used in Berbice will result in the development of clubs and player. However he noted that there will be some challenges along the way.
The competition attracted six teams; Fyrish Black Sharks and Ithaca Hardliners from West Berbice while Canje Knights, Rose Hall Town Jammers, Hopetown Stealers and New Amsterdam Warriors are from East Berbice.
The two top teams in each zone will advance to the knockout rounds, at stake in the competition are trophies and incentive prizes.
