Boodoosingh ready for Grand Prix challenge

The second Georgetown Grand Prix, organised by GT Motorsports, is set to speed off on April 7 at the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club, Albert Street and Thomas Lands, and the inclusion of Trinidad and Tobago’s Group Four driver Kristian Boodoosingh should make the event even more intriguing.
Boodoosingh is not the first overseas driver to compete at the event. In the inaugural staging in February, the Trinidad and Tobago father/daughter combination of Ravi Singh and Bridget Singh, Barbados’ Orry Hunte and Canada’s Darryl Timmers were in Guyana to showcase their skills for local fans. Boodoosingh said he has received positive reviews of the facility and the atmosphere on race night from Bridget Singh, who incidentally was the champion driver in the 125cc Senior Cup, having won both her races. “She gave the event and facility very high praise, saying that it is world class in her book and the atmosphere was amazing, so I can’t wait to get on track and experience it first-hand under the lights Friday night,” Boodoosingh related.

A dominating force in the Caribbean Motor Racing Championships, Kristian Boodoosingh will treat the locals to his skills in go-karting

The 2015 Caribbean Motor Racing Championships’ Group Four runner-up is eagerly anticipating testing out the newly-refurbished track and hopefully cop some podium finishes.
“I am ecstatic about this opportunity given to me by Vishok (Persaud) to compete at the GT Motorsports (Georgetown) Grand Prix this coming Friday. Having competed in Guyana on three previous occasions in the Group Four class and coming out with several podium finishes, I am looking forward to racing at this new facility and hopefully, I can put on a great show for the fans and come out with some more podium finishes,”  the Trinidadian stated.
Engines will start at the Georgetown Grand Prix at 18:00h. Among the categories to be contested are the 60cc, 125cc Junior, 125cc Senior, 4-Stroke Light, 4-Stroke Heavy and Shifter Karts. A new addition would be the Easy Cup Rookies, targeting newcomers.
The champion drivers from February’s meet were: 60cc – Jeremy Tenpow (2 wins, 1 third-place finish); 125cc Junior – Mikhail Persaud (2 wins, 1 third-place finish); 125cc Senior – Bridget Singh (2 wins); 4-Stroke Light – Stephen Vieira (1 win, 2 second-place finish); 4-Stroke Heavy – Shan Seejattan (2 wins); and Shifter Karts – Kristian Jeffrey (3 wins).
