… as up-starts Kwakwani face Falcons

Reigning champions Half Mile Bulls are expected to win their group stage match when they face the challenge of Block 22 Flames tonight in game one.
Wild card entrants, Kwakwani, after beating fourth rated Amelia’s Ward Jets in their first game, should prevail against Bankers Trust Falcons and reach the final four when the 3rd Rock Entertainment Open Basketball championship continues at the Mackenzie Sports Club hard court, Linden.
The Bulls come in this game seeking a semi-final place, after losing their first game against third seed Victory Valley Royals and must win against Flames to book their place and face Royals in one semi-final on Sunday.
An unlikely win by the Flames could end the reign of the Bulls and with players such as Terron Welch, Michael Turner and Travin Dryden, the Bulls should get the better of the Flames.
However, the absence of Turner and the out of form Welch and Dryden should be of concern for the Bulls, but these guys are quality

players and should be ready for any challenge the Flames could pose tonight and be ready for a return clash against a Royals side, which has hit top form in their win against the Bulls.
On the other hand, the number one ranked Raiders are likely to face the Kwakwani side which looked in formidable form as they defeated the Jets and should their form continue, they should be too much for the Falcons. The Kwakwani side will have their top player in Dominic Douglas leading their way as he notched up 21 points in that win over the Jets.
With Leonard Premio and Evans Johnson showing good form the Kwakwani should prevail against the Flames.
In this light, the focus will therefore be on the semi-finals set for Sunday when the Raiders and Royals await the results of tonight’s match-ups.
