Clothes vendor accused of gold band theft

A clothes vendor was on Tuesday granted ,000 bail by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan when he appeared before her at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts accused of stealing a gold band.
It is alleged that Ceon David, 37, of Lot 164 Charlotte Street, Georgetown, on April 2 at Regent Street, Georgetown, stole from Godfrey Thomas one gold band valued 0,000. David denied the charges.
The Prosecutor did not object to bail in the matter after taking into consideration the fact that the stolen item was recovered by the Virtual Complainant (VC).
The defendant told the Court that on the day in question, he and a Police Officer got into a scuffle on Regent Street because the Policeman was “troubling” his girlfriend, which resulted in him being arrested and falsely accused of robbery. Magistrate McLennan granted the defendant bail and adjourned the matter to April 25.
