DDL continues to support Boxing Day Horse Race Meet

Regular Sponsor, Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL), has once again thrown its weight behind Kennard’s Memmorial Club Boxing Day horse race meet.
On Friday the beverage giants were the latest entity to get on board with the annual Boxing Day event which is in its 43rd year.

DDL has branded the event under its Ivanoff Vodka Brand and the entity Wines and Spirit Manager, Maria Munroe, presented the trophy to KMTC Chairman Justice Cecil Kennard at a simple presentation.
The trophy along with an undisclosed amount of cash will go to the winner of the two year-old event on the day of the meet.
It is three decades now since DDL has been on board for the event and Munroe stated that her company is elated to be associated with the event for so long and she is optimistic that it would be continuous as far as she know. Kennard expressed gratitude to DDL; “Sponsorship is necessary for the development of sport and I am grateful for the continuous support that DDL usually offers.”
In addition he informed that the track is in good shape and turfites can expect an action packed day.
A trophy and $220,000 will be given to the winner of the two-year old event while the runner up will take home $110,000. In all, eight races are carded for the Boxing Day tradition which attracts the best of the best within the Region.
