Reports are the future teacher was out with friends at the Aurora seawall for a birthday picnic when they went swimming.

Reports reaching Guyana Times are that his friends missed him and began searching for him. Other persons in the area were notified and the search was joined. However, everyone’s worst fears were realised at about 17:00h when the young adult’s body was seen in the ocean.

Police from the Aurora Police Station were summoned and launched an investigation. This newspaper was reliably informed that two other friends of the dead youth were found unconscious and were rushed to the Suddie Hospital, where they remain patients.

While details of the incident remains sketchy, this newspaper was told that the remaining friends were taken into custody as Police probe the incident.

Persaud is the third child of his parents. His body is at the Suddie Mortuary awaiting an autopsy.
