Essequibo traffic department clamps down on tinted vehicles

Fifty-three drivers in Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam) were on Wednesday stopped by traffic officers and the tint on their vehicles removed as the department adheres to the use of tint.

According to Officer in Charge of Traffic in the Region Arunanauth Ramnauth the ranks were on a “tint” campaign as part of operation “White Knight”. The White Knight campaign is a collaborative effort of the Guyana National Road Safety Council (GNRSC) and the Guyana Police Force. Ramnauth said that all the drivers complied and removed the tints. Ranks were placed at various locations along the Coast where they stopped and inspected vehicles.

The department will continue the campaign right through the festive season in an effort to make the roadways safer from drunk drivers. (Indrawattie Natram)
