Fisherman on bail for simple larceny

Fisherman Arshal Ali was on Monday arraigned before Georgetown Magistrate Judy Latchman on a simple larceny charge allegedly committed on August 31, 2017 at the junction of Regent and Alexander Streets in Georgetown, when he stole from Nickeiola Cameron-Cole one handbag, a purse and ,000 cash, to a total of ,000.
Police Prosecutor Sanj Singh detailed that virtual complainant Cameron-Cole was sitting in a car stuck in traffic when the defendant approached the motor vehicle from behind and snatched the bag which was in the back seat. A report made to the Police led to Ali’s arrest and positive identification by the VC.
The Magistrate placed Ali on ,000 bail, and scheduled the case for continuation on October 5, 2017.
