GTT donates collection boxes to the Guyana Red Cross Society

Local telephone giant GTT has donated 40 collection boxes to the Guyana Red Cross Society (GRCS) on Friday.

These boxes will be placed at strategic locations across Georgetown to assist in bolstering the Society’s fundraising programmes, in fulfilment of their mission “to improve the lives of vulnerable people by mobilising the power of humanity.”

Resource and Mobilisation Coordinator, Anna Lisa-Phang, who was present at the handing over ceremony, expressed the Society’s appreciation to GTT while using the opportunity to appeal to all other corporate entities to follow GTT’s lead in supporting the work of the GRCS.

The boxes will be dispatched across the city from Monday, May 15, and persons are encouraged to donate generously. The funds collected from the boxes will be specifically used in the delivery of service to the Children’s Convalescent Home, Meals on Wheels and the Wellness Clinic programmes.

The presentation of the boxes was done by GTT’s Public Relations Officer, Allison Parker, who said the company is pleased to have contributed to the Society’s programme and highlighted that “GTT is committed to positively affecting the lives of citizens, not only through its core business, but by the many corporate social responsibility initiatives it continues to support.”
