Gunmen rob couple at Bourda Market

A couple were on Tuesday buying oranges in the vicinity of Bourda Market when they were robbed by three armed men.
According to information reaching this publication, the couple who reside in Paradise, East Coast Demerara, went to a nearby bank to withdraw cash before walking to the market. While there, in the process of purchasing their oranges at North Road and Orange Walk, they were accosted by three men, who exited a white Toyota 212 car and pointed a gun at them.
According to a source, the couple were relieved of a handbag containing important documents and an undisclosed amount of cash. The men had in their possession a shotgun and two handguns. The robbers made good their escape by driving west along North Road into Alexander Street then into Church Street.
A report was made to the Alberttown Police Station and investigations are ongoing.
