Guyanese award winning journalist to make presentation at “INSPIRE YOU”

On March 25, the Sonia Noel Foundation for Creative Arts will host “INSPIRE YOU”; an interactive session on women empowerment as part of Women in Business Expo to be held at the Pegasus Hotel.
At the event, several women are expected to participate, including Anna Mc Coy, Linda Wallace, Pamela Robertson, Hilda Bournes, Kerri Gravesande and only recently Sherry Dixon was confirmed. They will make presentations on various topics with the aim of empowering women.
Sherry Dixon, a Guyanese award winning Journalist, Transformational Lecturer and Keynote speaker, is passionate about empowering people to be confident, assertive and to be the best they can be, and this started since she was six years old.
Today she represents women in her community and without skipping a beat she has moved from Magazine Editor to being an internationally sought after Empowerment and Public Speaker.
Sherry Dixon is highly respected in the ethnic community in Britain.
Coming from a background of Public Relations, and as a renowned journalist, Sherry edited two magazines – Pride Magazine and SHE Caribbean.
She has written for many publications including The Guardian, Sunday Observer, The Times, Guyana Chronicle, Upscale Magazine, The Voice and has done numerous television and radio shows for Lorraine Kelly (LK Today) and BBC Worldwide helping to dispel the myths surrounding the health and beauty for women of colour.

With her wide span of knowledge of empowerment issues, Sherry Dixon has become a sought after inspirational, transformational speaker and mentor, sharing her life skills and vast knowledge to empower individuals in the UK and worldwide.
But most importantly, it is her thirst for mentoring within her community that has been recognised and applauded. In December 2014, Sherry was commended by The Mayor of London acknowledging her inspiring work with women in her community by presenting her with a Certificate of Appreciation at the London Peace Awards.
A much sought after international keynote speaker, Dixon has on a number of occasions delivered keynote addresses at the House of Lords and House of Parliament in London.
The lists of her speaking events are much too long to mention here as it would transpire over many pages. In March 2016, Sherry spoke at the United Nations in New York, with the Justina Mutale Foundation UN-CSW60 as part of the UK Civil Society delegation “Activating Women’s Leadership as a Key Driver to Achieving Sustainable Development”.
In April 2016 Sherry was appointed as The Country Committee Chairperson for Motivation in the UK at All Ladies League (ALL). To hear more about the work of Dixon, the Pegasus is the place to be on March 25.
