GWI working to restore water supply

Guyana Water Inc (GWI) wishes to respond to your article, dated Monday, September 11, 2017 and titled “Little or no water for some West Dem residents”. Firstly, we wish to offer an apology to the residents of West Demerara.
GWI wishes to advise customers served by La Grange, La Parfaite Harmonie and Westminster Well Stations, West Bank Demerara that the disruption to their service is due to GPL voltage fluctuation and power failures.
Affected communities include Bagotville, Canal Number 1, Parfaite Harmonie, Westminister, Schoonord, La Grange, Onderneeming and Recht Door Zee.
GWI is working with the Guyana Power & Light to restore normal service in the quickest manner possible.
We wish to thank your publication for highlighting the concerns which affect our customers. We remain firm in our commitment to significantly improve our service.
