Holder leads lawmen to 1st win

Round two matches in the Petra Organised Limacol round-robin knock-out football tournament have commenced and the Guyana Police Force Football Club is the first team to register a victory when they got past against Camptown Football Club 1-0 compliments of a Quincy Holder goal.
When the feature match of the evening match finally got underway after a lengthy delay on Monday night, it immediately created great enticement as to which team will breach the opposition’s defence first with both sides having a fleet of offensive attacks on goal.
The see-saw continued to swing until Holder seized an opportunity in the 32nd minute scoring his second goal of the tournament in an as many matches to put his team in control.

The Campbellville unit had chances to change the score-line during the second half but ruing those mishaps in front of goal.
In the earlier match, Winners Connection were subdued to a goalless stalemate by a spirited Northern Rangers. The Linden unit after their 3-1 pouncing of Grove Hi Tech would have been brewing with confidence but talisman Rawle “Boneyman” Gittens and company could not have fruitful impact.
Though goalless, there were much physicality in the game as five yellow cards were given out.  The Rangers late in the second half, had their avenues to equalize but too often did not give any support to the running forward.
The tournament continues tonight at the same venue with another double header, as Milerock clash with Grove Hi Tech from 18:30h followed by Western Tigers tackling Eagles from 20:30h.
The top teams are competing for a $500,000 first place prize while second to third will receive $250,000, $125,000 and $75,000 respectively.
In addition, the top teams in the groups will be rewarded $100,000, $50,000, $30,000 and $20,000.
Other than title sponsors Limacol, the organisers have also managed to gain the support of Bank DIH under their GT Beer brand, Star Party Rentals and Trophy Stall.
Admission to the venue is $500.
