Illegal possession lands father in court

A Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown man was before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on Monday to answer to a charge of possession of cocaine and cannabis.
Jermaine Estmant, 40, of Lot 493 Turkeyen, appeared before City Magistrate Judy Latchman.
He denied the charge which stated that on September 8, 2017, at Waterloo Street, South Cummingsburg, Georgetown, he was found to be in possession of 0.2 grams of cocaine. Additionally, he denied another charge which stated that on the same day at the same location, he was found to be in possession of 4.5 grams of cannabis.
The prosecution is contending that the father of three was found with the items by ranks that were on patrol at Waterloo Street.
Police Prosecutor Shawn Gonsalves had no objections to bail. The man was released on ,000 bail. The case will continue on October 9.
