Jaguars’ 50-over League to bowl off Tuesday

– being used as selection for Super50 squad

After a successful 3-Day league, teams will now prepare to do battle in the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB)/Jaguars 50-Overs League which bowls off its first round of matches on Tuesday.
The first round of matches will bowl off from 09:00 hours with Jaguars 3-Day Champions, Essequibo playing West Berbice at the Imam Bacchus Ground in Essequibo. Upper Corentyne will do battle with East Coast Demerara at the Port Mourant Ground.
Meanwhile, Berbice while Lower Corentyne will tackle Georgetown at the Albion Community Centre Ground, Berbice. Upper Demerara/East Bank will oppose West Demerara at the Everest Ground, also the East Coast franchise were yet to submit their squad up until press time.
With numerous top performances in the 3-Day format, the one-day segment will now see players looking to make full use of the league in order to place themselves in contention for selection to the Jaguars’ 50-overs squad. Jaguars will participate in the 2018 Cricket West Indies (CWI) Super50 which bowls in late January.
The League will witness seven preliminary rounds of high level cricket action, with four such rounds of matches being played in November and the remaining three preliminary rounds of matches being played in December.
The franchise team which finishes with the most points at the end of the preliminary rounds, will gain the right to play in the finals on December 30 while the second and third placed teams on conclusion of the preliminary rounds will meet in the play offs on December 28.

The coaches are Julian Moore and Kwasie Maltay.
