Man charged for stealing wife’s property

A man who allegedly stole some of his wife’s property after their relationship ended, was made to answer to Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Sherwin Johnson, 34, of Lot 1 Wales Street, Bagotstown, East Bank Demerara, pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him.
It is alleged that on October 1, 2016, at Bagotstown, he stole from Candacy Lanford one laptop and one Samsung Galaxy cell phone to a total value of 5,000.
According to the Prosecution’s facts, the defendant and Lanford who share three children together, are no longer in a relationship but when he left the home he took the above mentioned items with him.
After he was summoned by a Police Officer, he returned with the items.
He was granted ,000 bail and is scheduled to return to court on November 18, 2016.
