Mayor’s Cup Round of 16 kicks off this weekend

The 22nd edition of the Mayors Cup knock-out tournament continues this Sunday, June 5 with a double header action at the Victoria Ground, on the East Coast of Demerara. In the opening game, Cougars FC will take on Police FC at 18:30 Hrs while in the second contest home team Victoria Kings will face off against Federal Winners Connection from the mining town of Linden at 20:30 Hrs.
Action in the round of 16 stage will then continue at the same venue on Thursday June 9 with another double header. In the first game at 18:30 BV/Triumph will challenge Eagles United from Linden followed by the clash of the Groves, when Ann’s Grove rub shoulders against Grove Hi Tech at 20:30 hrs.
The top four prizes have been put up by Aruwai Resorts, Ansa McAl, John Fernandes and German’s Restaurant respectively.
The winner of the tournament will receive 0,000 and a trophy from Aruwai Resort. Runner up will receive 300,000 and the Ansa McAl trophy, third place will receive 0,000 and a trophy from John Fernandes while fourth place will take home 0,000 and the Ministry of State trophy. Winners will also receive hampers from Ricks and Sari.
Top scorer of the tournament will be rewarded with a 3-piece suite from AH&L Kissoon’s Modern Furniture Factory.
