According to information received, the driver of PPP 8497 allegedly swerved from the pedestrian who was said to be on the centre of the road when he was struck down by the constable’s car. Police indicated that around 02:30h Sunday, Gentle was proceeding south on the Timehri Public Road, EBD when he lost control of his PTT 5444 motorcar and crashed into a utility pole. Gentle sustained injuries as a result of the collision. It was not clear if he sustained additional injuries as result of the second accident. Investigations into both matters are continuing.
