Play- offs rescheduled due to congress

The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Stag Elite League “Big Four Tournament” has been re-scheduled to a date yet to be announced, the playoffs were supposed to begin today.

In a statement to the media, Guyana Football Federation’s Competitions Director, Ian Alves, noted that the rescheduling is necessary to facilitate preparations for GFF’s Congress, which is scheduled for Saturday, May 27.

The Stag Elite League concluded on Sunday last with Guyana Defence Force leading the standings with 27 points followed by Fruta Conquerors FC with 25.

Victoria Kings FC finished third with 14 points following a win over relegated Monedderlust FC while Buxton United FC rounds off the top four teams with 13 points.

The top four teams of the league will be contesting the “Big Four” knockout tournament. The “Big Four Tournament” will have a total of three million dollars up for grabs with the prize money distributed as follows: 1st Prize – One & One Half Million Dollars ($1,500,000.00), 2nd Prize – Seven Hundred Thousand Dollars ($700,000.00), 3rd Prize – Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000.00), and 4th Prize – Three Hundred Thousand Dollars ($300,000.00).
