Port Mourant Cricket Club defeat Whim by 1-innings and 205 runs

A brilliant unbeaten Century from Port Mourant Cricket Club’s Ezekiel Kempadoo paved the way for their victory over Whim National in the BCB/New York Business Group Under-19 two innings competition held at the Whim Ground on March 30.
Winning the toss, and batting first, Port Mourant set a massive total of 270/7 declared in 45 overs with young Kempadoo hitting an unbeaten 102 ( 5 fours, 2 sixes). Veramootoo Senwasane supported with a well composed 44 while Vivekanand Jagjit and Jamar Lancaster were aggressive and added 29 and 31 respectively.
Bowling for Whim National, Mahindra Charran took three wickets while R. Appadu and D. Davis took one each.
In Whim’s reply to the target set by the PMCC, no momentum was gained and their batsmen did not stand up to the impact of the PMCC’s bowling. Whim fell for a paltry 65 runs all out. N. Deonarine had 23 runs while M. Charran top scored with 25, the other batsmen failed to make it past five runs.
Bowling for the Port Mourant Cricket Club, Kevin Latiff proved himself detrimental to the batsmen as he picked up 3-14 runs in 4.2 overs. Pacers Cheddi Budhoo and Jamar Lancaster took one wicket each while all-rounder Emmanuel Seecharran took 2-24 runs in three overs.
The Whim National Team was hesitant to engage in the 2nd innings of the match, and indicated that they accepted defeat and an outright went to the Port Mourant Cricket Club.
