Ruimveldt man nabbed with gun, ammo

A West Ruimveldt, Georgetown man was on Monday nabbed with an illegal gun with 14 live rounds of matching ammunition.

Police arrested the 20-year-old man about 05:00h at Ruimveldt Public Road while he was in a hire car and found the gun, which was tucked in his waistband.

Police Public Relations Officer Jairam Ramlakhan said that Police Officers, acting on information, swooped down on the vehicle and intercepted the man.

Investigations are continuing.
