The Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club’s unmatched ability to attract sponsorship due to its proven track-record of success was on display over the last week as plans for the 46th Anniversary Celebrations of Rose Hall Town. The Club attracted sponsorship from Factory Price of King Street, Georgetown, the Ministry of Social Protection, the Regional Democratic Council of Region 6, the Toronto West-East Group of the PNCR and the Guyana Beverage Company for the Week of celebrations, which would be the largest and most colourful Town Week celebration in the History of Guyana.

The Factory Price Store donated $50,000.00 worth of trophies towards the hosting of Sports Tournaments on Sunday September 18 at the Area ‘H’ Ground. Cricket, football and basketball tournaments would be held as part of a Family Fun Day.

The Ministry of Social Protection, the Toronto West East Branch of the PNC/R and the Regional Democratic Council all made financial contribution towards the construction of the Family Recreational Park and the printing of T/Shirts for RHTY&SC members. The Family Recreational park would be opened on September 23 and would include a benab, swing, slide, seesaws, a flower garden among others as part of the Club’s and the Guyana Police Force Say No to Crime, Drugs and Suicide Campaign.

The Guyana Beverage Company would be donating drinks for the Opening Parade and would also sponsor Television Advertisements and the rental of some tents for the historic Rose Hall Town Career and Business Fair scheduled for Thursday September 22.

Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster disclosed that apart from a few minor problems to be resolved, all plans are in place for the hosting of the events by the eight cricket teams. He expressed special thanks to the Regional Chairman David Armogan, Minister of Social Protection Volda Lawerence, Tulsi of Factory price, Artie Ricknauth of the Toronto Group and Marc Telting of Busta for their cooperation.

Meanwhile, the RHTY&SC, M.S would like to inform all residents of Rose Hall Town that it is not associated with an upcoming Comedy Show nor is the show associated with the Town Week Calendar of activities. All events for the Town Week would be free of cost to the General Public.
