Singh to captain Windies U-15 in England

The lone Guyanese in the West Indies u-15 squad, batsman Sachin Singh, has been appointed captain of the team for their Invitational XI for a tour of England from August 8 to 21.
The team was chosen following performances of players who participated in last year’s Regional Under-15 Tournament. Two members of the squad – Tariq Mohammed and Rajiv Redhi – are playing in this year’s Regional U 15, currently taking place in Barbados.

Commenting on the squad, Chairman of the Selection Panel, Courtney Browne said: “It has been widely recognised that our talent pool is limited in the Caribbean, so CWI has taken steps to give opportunities to our young players and encourage them to remain in the game.”
“A trip like this is designed to get players ready for what is to come on the international pathway, as they make the steps up through the youth levels and onto the senior stage. So we are eagerly looking forward to seeing how much they have progressed.”
The Windies Under-15 Invitational XI will play six 50 overs-a-side matches against age group opponents from around the United Kingdom, plus a warm-up 35 overs-a-side match.
