Single parent slapped with multiple counts of assault, other charges

A single mother of two children, aged four months and two, who was previously before the courts  appeared on Wednesday and was  granted bail after she was slapped with multiple counts of assault and other charges.
Nikita Jordan, 46, a market vendor, pleaded not guilty to all charges when they were read to her by Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
The first charge stated that on April 18 and April 26, 2017, she unlawfully assaulted Tiraji Harding and Claudine Benn respectively so as to cause actual bodily harm.
Also on April 18, she unlawfully and maliciously wounded Tiraji Harding. On April 26, she also made use of abusive language to Claudine Benn.
Those charges were all read after the defendant also pleaded not guilty to a charge of damage to property.
However, the Court heard that she has not been making her court appearances.
On the damage to property charge, Magistrate Azore released the defendant on her own cognisance.
On the assault charges, Jordan was granted 00 bail and on the other charges 00 bail, a total of ,000 in bail. She will return to court on May 11 for the damage to property charge and on May 29, 2017 for the other charges.
