Taxi driver shot dead in Albouystown

A taxi driver was on Sunday evening shot dead execution style, while making a delivery in King Edward Street, Albouystown, Georgetown.
The dead man has been identified as Oswald Rambarran, 42, of West Ruimveldt, Georgetown. Rambarran was a taxi driver attached to the 007 Taxi Service, Middle Road, La Penitence, Georgetown.
At the time of the shooting, the taxi driver was not on duty, a source at the Taxi Service revealed . The source stated that while Rambarran worked Sunday morning, he was not seen since around noon.
Reports are that around 20:30h as Rambarran was about to deliver some food in King Edward Street, two men rode up on a motorcycle and opened fire on him.

The taxi driver was reportedly shot about 10 times about the body, and was picked up by public-spirited citizens and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital. He succumbed while awaiting medical attention.
While it was not immediately clear what may have led to the shooting, Police sources said they were working with the theory that it may have stemmed from an old grievance.
Police have not yet made any arrests, but investigations are ongoing.
