Teen charged for wounding pensioner

A teenager who wounded an elderly man was on Friday dragged before the court, charged with maliciously wounding.

Akeem Douglas of South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, denied the charge when Magistrate Leron Daly read it to him.

It is alleged that on August 3, 2017, at Regent Street, Georgetown, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Alfred Williams.

The Police Prosecutor had no bail objections but asked that the defendant be placed on a bond to keep the peace until the completion of the matter.

Bail was granted in the sum of $25,000 and the defendant is scheduled to make his next court appearance on August 29.
