The woman, who grew up in Fourth Street Craig, EBD, lived with her husband who is presently in the interior. At the time of her demise, she had visited a friend at Bagotstown and was heading towards the East Bank Highway when she came into contact with the rear wheel of the motor lorry bearing registration number GPP 1637.

She was clad in a pair of blue jeans and a white blouse. One side of her footwear was in close proximity to the body while the other was under the truck.

Several persons at the scene of the accident claimed that the driver of the truck was on his mobile phone but the driver, Lloyd Williams of Timehri, EBD, is holding out that it was the woman who was on her handset when the accident occurred.

She had just exited Norton Street, Bagotstown, and walked onto the main access road when she was killed. The driver of the motor lorry remains in Police custody as investigations continue. Her mother and sister who reside overseas were contacted and are expected to arrive in Guyana over the weekend.
