Win a spot to perform at Courts Christmas Tree Light-up

As Courts Guyana Inc prepares to host its annual Christmas Tree Light-up, which normally takes the form of a grand concert, the company is looking for fresher and newer talents to ring in the occasion.
The Christmas Tree Light-up has become a tradition for many families that flock the various stores to ring in the festive season.
It is evident that the largest concert is held in front of Courts Guyana, Main Street, Georgetown store and is attended by members of Government and other dignitaries.
Over the past years, the furniture giant usually shortlists some of the best local singers and other acts for the concert and would receive numerous requests from other upcoming artistes who would also like to perform at the Courts Light Up in order to gain recognition.
It is behind this backdrop that the company is committed to bringing newer and fresher talent to the stage, and as such, it will embark on a song competition via social media.
It is the hope that the winners will become the next ‘big thing’ in Guyana through the exposure they will receive. The winner of the competition will receive $200,000 cash and the opportunity to be on tour with Courts across Guyana as it spreads Christmas cheer.
Those desirous of participating in the competition are required to upload their best Eddy Grant cover to their Facebook page with the hash tags #CourtsLightUp and #CourtsCastingCall.
The five persons with the most votes will be summoned to sing live before the Courts judges where the winner(s) will be selected.
More information about the competition’s rules is available on the Courts Facebook page. Closing date for entries is Tuesday, October 17.
The previous winners were Jevonah Chester, Ronnel Gonsalves and Melissa Vandeyar.
