ANSA McAL’s Dewar Golf Classic on this Saturday

The Dewar Golf Classic, a tournament being held by distribution giants ANSA McAL under this premier liquor brand, will commence at the Lusignan Golf Course at 11:00hrs on Saturday, November 9th. This is in an effort to ensure that the enormous amount of players who are billed for the annual event get ample time to finish it.

Trophies and prizes will be on offer for winners in three categories of play, and specialty awards will be up for grabs for such sterling achievements as the ‘longest drive’ and ‘nearest to pin’.
ANSA McAL has been a staunch supporter of the Lusignan Golf Club (LGC), and that company’s Managing Director, Troy Cadogan, has been in the LCG winner’s circle several times this year, including for being champion in his flight in the Lusignan Open.
This will be the third event this business conglomerate would be staging at the LGC, having hosted the Suzuki Motors Invitational and co-hosted the Lusignan Open.
“We have seen the dramatic improvements in the amount of playing time, quality and condition of the grounds, and feel that with the direction that the LGC is moving, ANSA McAL will be there to assist”, Troy Cadogan has said.
“I have seen the transformation of the Club as it has risen to a whole new level, and hope that other members and companies will join in supporting us as we continue to improve”, Cadogan has said.
Responding, LGC President Aleem Hussain has said the constant support of its members and sponsors has made it possible for the current conditions to exist, and if past presidents and executive members had not laid the foundation, the club would not have experienced this explosive growth.
“We had leaders such as past presidents Hilbert Shields, Shyam Ramroop, Jerome Khan, David Mohamed and Brian Hackett, who struggled through the lean times but kept the club functioning so that now we can reap the rewards”, Hussain has said.
He noted that many of the ideas he has implemented were those shared by the previous administrations, and all he has done was to move the dreams into reality.
“At the end of the day, the names and faces will change, but the LGC has to also change to ensure that we deliver the services expected of us”, he has opined.
DEWAR’S® 15 Blended Scotch Whisky is the most awarded Blended Scotch Whisky in the world, and is of rare vintage, single malt and single grain scotch whiskies which are married in oak casks for a light, velvety finish. Speaking at the launch, of this beverage on June 7, 2018, the Regional Trade Ambassador had said, “The flavour of Dewar’s 15 is exquisite. It includes many notes such as honey, decadent toffee sauce, rich fruit, succulent exotic fruits, hints of coconut and vanilla, complemented with citrus and green apple notes. All these notes give the scotch a smooth and warming finish”.
Brand Coordinator Timothy Sammy has said the company decided to showcase the brand as a standalone (last year it teamed Heineken with Dewar’s to host its annual golf tournament), feeling that the premium liquor has made a name of its own and should be recognized accordingly. Dewar’s is available at Mattai’s, Bounty, Massy and all major supermarkets nationwide.
This event will be the year’s grand finale event for ANSA McAL, and players and the public are urged to come out on Saturday November 9th, as the company will offer great deals and samples of Dewar’s and other branded products. The action starts at 11 hrs (11:00am) and will go late into the evening as the turn-out is expected to be one of the largest of the year for the LGC.For more information on the sponsor or the LGC, please visit their Facebook pages or stop by their BV headquarters and the golf course in Lusignan.
