All set for Miss East Bank showdown

In less than 48 hours, one of six delegates will be crowned Miss East Bank Demerara when the pageant is held at the Soesdyke Ball Field on Saturday evening.

It is expected to be a night of stiff competition since all the delegates will be bringing their A Game.
The aim of the pageant is to give young girls on the East Bank of Demerara a chance to boost their self-esteem and more so, to showcase their various communities.
It will also be used as a catalyst to empower young women to deal with various social issues such as domestic violence, teenage pregnancy, child abuse, and sexual abuse.
The audience will be entertained by Jory Hector and the deejays from the Silver Star, Blackstone and Hardball Squad sound systems. Admission to the event costs $1000.
