Alleged mastermind turns self into Police

The alleged mastermind in the Tain, Corentyne, Berbice, execution of a domestic worker turned herself into Police on Friday afternoon.

Divisional Commander, Assistant Commissioner Ian Amsterdam told Guyana Times that the wanted woman went to the Criminal Investigations Department at the Whim Police Station in the company of Attorney Chandra Sohan.

Indira Outar was wanted for questioning for the February 7 killing of Lilawatie Muhammed, 45, at her lot 198 Sixth Street, Tain Settlement, Corentyne home.

It is alleged that Outar paid $400,000 to have Muhammed executed. Muhammed was reportedly involved in an extramarital relationship with Outar’s husband.

On the evening of February 7, two masked men broke into Muhammed’s home and demanded money under the pretext that it was a robbery. When she said she did not have money, one of the men put a gun to her head and discharged two bullets.

On Wednesday, Oliver Permaul, 36, of lot 100 Tain; the wife of Nazeema Permaul, 42, a businesswoman of Rose Hall Town of the same address; Andre James, also called “Andy”, 26, a tattoo artist of lot 46 ‘A’ George Street, Rose Hall; Rohan Johnson, also called “Jamakie”, 38, a carpenter of Clardon, Jamaica and of lot 107 Second Street, Rose Hall; and his reputed wife Shabikie Albert, also called “Shabikie Thompson”, all appeared at the Number 51 Magistrate’s Court and were charged with murder.

Amsterdam said the woman did not provide any significant information in relation as to the reason Police wanted her for questioning.

He however noted that the Police have 72 hours during which to detain her.

Guyana Times understands that Outar was out of the country at the time of the shooting but subsequently returned.
