Central Electronics employees charged for fraud

Yvonnen Rocharran, 22, of Kaneville, East Bank Demerara and Davieka Ramkarran, 20, of Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara were hauled before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on Wednesday and slapped (both separately and jointly) with multiple counts of embezzlement.
Magistrate Fabayo Azore presided over the matter and read the string of charges to the defendants, both of whom maintained their innocence.
The first joint charge stated that between December 13, 2016 and June 8, 2017, both of the defendants fraudulently embezzled $450,000 taken into possession by them or on account of Central Electronics (their employer).
Rocharran was further slapped with two separate charges alleging that she embezzled some $106,000 and $191,000 in cash on May 26, 2017 and June 7, 2017, respectively.
The above charges were laid indictably.
Eight subsequent joint charges stated that the accused persons embezzled a total of $130,000 on dates given to fall between November 2016 and June 2017.
Bail was set in separate sums with respect to each charge; with Rocharran being placed on $230,000 and Ramkarran, $150,000, in total. The pair will return to court on September 26, 2017 for summary matters while the charges laid indictably will continue on October 11, 2017.
