District Lounge to come alive for “Rise Again” disaster relief party

… in aid of victims of Hurricane Irma

The District Ultra Lounge housed at the Giftland Mall, Liliendaal, Greater Georgetown, is set to come alive on September 24, as local organisation, Young Pioneers, is set to host a grand benefit relief party in aid of the victims who suffered at the hands of one of the most intense Hurricanes in the Atlantic.
This is in light of the massive destruction brought on as Hurricane Irma wreaked havoc across the Caribbean just days ago.
As such, in an effort to lend a helping hand to the recovery efforts currently underway in several countries across the region, the youths of the non-profit organisation are inviting the public to join in on the “Rise Again” initiative, and party to great music – all for a charitable cause.
This noble venture comes to you with the kind compliments of the Young Pioneers in collaboration with the Ultra District Longue, with the partnership further extending to including the Guyana Live online entertainment platform.
Founded in 2013, Young Pioneers is a non-governmental organisation with a special focus on youth development and giving back in service to the community and country at large. The non-profit entity targets young individuals with the aim of exposing them to leadership skills and training while creating avenues for them to become involved in charitable service projects.
This is all with the intention of unlocking the full potential of young Guyanese leaders. The Young Pioneers are of the belief that there should be a balance of humanity and individuality in one’s life, hence their move to offer assistance to the victims of the widespread natural disaster.
Over the past years, Young Pioneers have organised and executed a number of activities similar to this; their most recent undertaking included toy drives, book drives, outreaches, food and clothing distribution, funds for medical assistance, health and other social campaigns, visits to retirement homes and orphanages, among others.
Adding to that, the army of change members attached to this organisation has also benefited from development opportunities including networking, mentorship programmes and exposure to overseas organisations, along with other training capacity building opportunities.
With that in mind, the local group now moves to extend their reach beyond Guyana, and as such, the staging of this benefit party is most timely and fitting, especially since the assistance will be much welcomed by the victims across the region.
Doors to the grand “Rise Again” disaster relief party are set to be opened at 20:00h with the revelry promising to last through the night. Admission to the event is tagged at $2000, with all proceeds being directed towards funding relief efforts for those suffering losses as a result of Hurricane Irma and the disaster that accompanied the hurricane.
Given the worthy cause, the Young Pioneers group is calling on Guyanese to come out and support this venture while cashing in on the experience provided at one of the hottest party spots around the city.
