Enmore vendor nabbed with guns, ammo

Moments after a market vendor of Newtown, Enmore had threatened to shoot a patron at a popular entertainment spot in that East Coast Demerara community, the police were able to establish that both the weapon and the ammo he was carrying were illegal.
Based on reports received, the vendor threatened to shoot another man at about 1:10h on Monday, March 21, but other patrons of the nightspot subdued him and handed him over to the police, who searched his person and unearthed an unlicensed .38 Taurus revolver along with five live rounds of ammunition and one spent shell.
At about 09:30h that day, police escorted the suspect to his home, where another search was conducted and an unlicensed twelve-gauge single-barrel Stephen shotgun and six live cartridges were found concealed in a wardrobe.
The suspect has, however, admitted to owning only the weapon and ammunition found in his home, but is nevertheless cooperating with investigators.
