Queen’s College sink 4 into St George’s High

Queen’s College had a delightful outing on Sunday afternoon at the Ministry of Education Ground, Carifesta Avenue, as they defeated St George’s High 4-0 in the Petra Organised Milo Under-18 School’s Football Championships.

Mae’s Second-ary were also on the winning side with their 5-3 result over Tutorial High as Yevdistir Persaud scored twice (23rd and 48th) to lead his team’s top performance. Akeem Hutson (7th minute), Darshan Persaud (11th) and Diego Britton (65th) were the other three players to etch their names on the scoresheet, while for the opposition, Steve Stanton (26th) Monty Tyrell (48th) and Travis Hercules (56th) gave their side a glimmer of hope.

Similarly, Dolphin Secondary defeated Central High 2-0 with Beres Parkinson and Levi Vancooten making the difference; Parkinson netted in the 4th while Vancooten scored in the 31st.

Meanwhile, North Georgetown and School of the Nations played to a goalless draw.

Thirty-two secondary schools are competing for the $500,000 first prize, while the second, third and fourth place finishers will pocket $300,000, $200,000 and $100,000 respectively, that goes towards a school project.

The championship will continue this weekend at the same venue with more exciting action.
