upcoming international friendly football match between Guyana and Canada’s U-23 team at the National Stadium, Providence.
GFF Technical Development Officer Mr. Lyndon France, who was present, said he pleased with the development of football and the engagement with our youths. France encouraged the Sophia Special School students to partake in different sporting activities; as it helps them to socialize with their peers.
France also expressed his contentment with the partnership of sports and education in our schools and sees this as a great opportunity for the students view the football stars in action.
GFF last Friday (April 29th) also distributed 100 tickets to the North Ruimveldt Multilateral School as part of their initiative to assist in the development of sports and sporting activities in our schools.
Roydon Harper, a student at the Sophia Special School said he is very excited to have the opportunity to witness our national stars as they take on Canada.
“I am happy I have the chance to go to the game, I love football. I thank GFF for providing us with the tickets.” said the grade 8 student.
The match between Guyana and Canada is scheduled to kick-off at 19:00h (7pm) on May 15th, 2016 at the National Stadium, Providence. The feature clash will be preceded by another exciting match-up between Christianburg/Wismar and Chase Academic Foundation at 16:00h.
