A rocky relationship ended bloody on Sunday evening after a wife stabbed her reputed husband about his body and he in retaliation hacked her to death.
Dead are Kurt Reynolds, 37, of Silverballi Street, Meadow Brook, Georgetown, and Selima “Shelly” Norton, 45, of New Providence Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara. 
According to reports, the couple operated a grocery shop at Ekereku Top, Kamarang, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni). This newspaper was told that an argument ensued after the couple accused each other of infidelity on the night of the stabbing.
Guyana Times understands that Norton and Reynolds were engaged in a heated argument, during which Norton collected a knife from the kitchen and dealt the man several blows to his body.
However, the man managed to relieve Norton of the knife and in turn stabbed her several times to the chest, abdomen and arm. After stabbing each other, they both collapsed. This publication understands that persons in the area rushed to the scene where they saw the couple lying in pools of blood. The blood stained double bladed knife was recovered at the scene.
Norton died almost immediately, while Reynolds died sometime after he related to the Police what had transpired.
When contacted Divisional Commander Ravindradat Budhram confirmed the incident, while noting it is a clearcut case and not much investigation can be done.
He also confirmed that after the matter was reported, Police responded and were given an account of what transpired. Persons in the area also told Police of the rocky relation that the two shared.
When the media visited Reynolds’ home, his daughter from a previous relationship said she was not in a position to give any information of the incident. The bodies are presently at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home awaiting post-mortems. (Bhisham Mohamed)
