1 dead after Pomeroon boat collision

The Police have recovered the body of 52-year-old Kenneth Joseph, who disappeared into the Pomeroon River following a river mishap. An intense searchboat accident was launch by relatives after the cash crop farmer went missing following a boat collision on Sunday, about 20:00h.

According to information reaching Guyana Times, the mishap occurred in the vicinity of Grant Anna Regina. The second vessel involved in the collision is owned by 28-year-old Reshanna Cameron, and was captained by his 24-year-old brother, Rondel Cameron.

Joseph was reportedly navigating a small wooden balahoo along with Leon George, another farmer from the Pomeroon River. The duo were proceeding south on the eastern side of the Pomeroon River while Rondel Cameroon was proceeding north. Joseph was thrown overboard following the collision. An investigation has been launched.
