1 injured during brawl at Angoy’s Avenue

A 30-year-old man was in the wee hours of Monday taken into Police custody after he reportedly wounded another man at Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam, Berbice, during a brawl.
Based on reports received, the suspect and the victim were at the same location imbibing and at about 02:00h on Monday, an argument broke out between them.
The argument reportedly escalated during which it is alleged that the now injured man picked up a beer bottle and threw it at the suspect.
In retaliation, the suspect became annoyed, armed himself with a cutlass and dealt the victim a chop to his right hand and another to his forehead.
As a result of the wounds, the injured man fell onto the ground. He was subsequently picked up and taken to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital where he was treated and admitted. His condition is regarded as stable.
The suspect, on the other hand, was arrested pending charges.
