– Grand Coronation set for May 25 @ Pegasus

Majesty International is pleased to announce the 10 finalists in this year’s Miss World Guyana competition; one of whom will go on to represent Guyana at the Miss World international competition being held in Sanya, China, later this year.

Keeping with Miss World Guyana tradition, the top 10 finalists will be appointed as regional ambassadors for an entire year to represent Guyana’s 10 administrative regions.

The 10 finalists are Andrea Marslowe, Lalita Baliram, Joylyn Conway, Lateifha Goodluck, Donnette Linton, Nichola Munroe, Dianna Persaud, Ambika Ramraj, Tracy Smith, and Breeanka West.

In addition, the debate challenge was won by Ambika Ramraj, whereas the Five-year Plan Challenge was won by Joylyn Conway. The Multimedia challenge was copped by Dianna Persaud and the Beauty with a Purpose Presentation Pitch Challenge was won by Tracy Smith.

The finalists will be sashed today at the Pegasus Hotel poolside starting at 19:00h.

Under the guidance of marketing team – NexGen Global Marketing – who has brought a new dynamic to the organisation’s strategic way of thinking, the team is asking corporate Guyana to support the delegates by giving them the opportunity to promote their products or services as brand ambassadors.

Displaying some of their talent, the semi-finalists teamed up with DP Records and previous titleholders in a national campaign to promote self-love and acceptance and completed a cover to the soon to be released song “This is Me”.

However, the Miss World Guyana finalists will join President David Granger and Minister George Norton at Highbury, Berbice after which they will proceed to the Albion Sports Complex where the Indian Action Committee is hosting a grand 180th anniversary celebration of Indian arrival to Guyana.

The contestants will appear before thousands of Berbicians in their first public appearances, before heading to the Skeldon Heritage House Resort for a three-day photo shoot.

As the competition continues, members of the public are invited to support the finalists in the Sports and Fitness competition scheduled at the Lusignan Golf Course on May 13, at 14:00h; the Top Model segment which is being held on the Marriott Beach front on May 19 at 19:00h; and the Beauty with a Purpose Fair on Main Street on May 23.

The Grand Coronation on May 25, at the Pegasus International Hotel, will showcase the culmination of beauty, with the delegates exuding the “Super Gs” as they display qualities such as “Generosity, Genial, Good, Gregarious, Golden, Global, Gifted, Graceful and Guyanese”, and highlight the organisation’s commitment to promoting Guyanese talent to the world with performances by local artistes.

Limited tickets are available at all Guyana Carnival ticket locations.
