Several events have been planned within Region Eight (Potaro-Siparuni) to assist the Guyana Police Force as they continue their efforts to bridge the gap between the Police and the public.
One such event is the much-anticipated Miss Region Eight Youth Ambassador Pageant, which will see 10 young ladies competing for the crown on October 29 at the Regional Administration Oval Ground at Mahdia.

These delegates, sashed last Saturday during an official introduction to the public, are listed below.
Delegate #1: Keziah Calder – Miss Chenapau Youth Group.
Delegate #2: Melanie Bennett – Miss El Paso Youth Group
Delegate #3: Angelica Cornett – Miss Princeville Youth Group
Delegate #4: Tesheka Kellman – Miss Mahdia Youth Group
Delegate #5: Francis Arenas – Miss Danji Hill Youth Group
Delegate #6: Opheza Matthews – Miss 7 Miles Youth Group
Delegate #7: Kathy Joseph – Miss Campbelltown Youth Group
Delegate #8: Sereenity Roberts – Miss Micobie Youth Group
Delegate #9: Gabriella Murray – Miss Paramakatoi Youth Group
Delegate #10: Annalisa Peters – Miss Karisparu Youth Group.
These delegates would be representing various platforms: Peer Pressure, Teenage Pregnancy, Child Labour, Drug Abuse, Domestic Violence, Child Abuse, Mental Illness, Sexual Harassment, Child Neglect, and Suicide.
