140 promoted at ASK-Guyana Examinations

Some 140 Karatekas from areas such as Linden, Albion, Blairmont, Land of Canaan, Canal #1 and Georgetown were examined and graded by 9th Dan Shuseki Shihan, Frank Woon-A-Tai, Founder of the International Karate Daigaku, at the YMCA on Thomas Lands on Sunday.
He was assisted by Senseis Amir Khouri 6th Dan, & Roger Peroune 4th Dan.
Matthew Alexander Gurahoo of the YMCA was promoted to 2nd Dan while Harikirtan Singh (YMCA), Orlando Giddings (YMCA), Joshua Parasram (Blairmont), Aarti Ramgolam (Canaan), Alex Nandram Benjamin (Canaan) and Sean Paul Wesley also from Land of Canaan were promoted to 1st dan.
Among the outstanding promotions from 10th Kyu (white belt) to 8th kyu (yellow) were Javy Archibald, Daniel Cox, Jelani Jones, Brandon Foo, Alexander Singh, Kenetha Fraser, Cleon Brisport, Javari McKenzie, Rasheed John, Shoaib Majid, Robert Gittens, Emily Ramlochand, Fardeen Thomas, Benjamin Best, Eshan Brij, Ronald Arjune, Paul Albert, Jaden Clarke, Bibi Farook, Immaunel Griffith, Leonardo Totaram and Thamishwar Dyasindoo.
Also earning promotion from 10th Kyu (White) to 7th kyu (orange)were Amara Nandan, David Bissoon, Jasmine West, Ricardo Narine, Meshach Sullivan, Saarah Majid and Maheshwar Dyasindoo.
Graduating from 10th Kyu (white) to 6th kyu (green) were Kejin Wan, Ya Meng Wan and Shaquan Barrow.
Yi Jun Huang, Bohan Cao and Piya Parasram were promoted from 8th kyu to 6th Kyu.
Moving from 7th kyu (orange) to 5th kyu (Blue) were Mark McCalman, Brandon Lewis, Joslyn Abraham, Bradley Fenty, Demian Dhanraj, Ramzan Singh, Crystal Itwaru and Krisendat Phagoo while Aldo Melendez, Danielle Persaud and Emily Santana-Leon moved from 6th Kyu (green) to 4th Kyu (purple).
Moving from 5th Kyu (Belt) to 3rd Kyu (Brown) were Cecil Da Silva, Jerry Santana-Bain, Arya Ramessar, Raphael Isaacs and Ava Koosial.
