15-month-old crushed to death

Days after a five-month-old child was electrocuted in his Berbice home, another baby, this time who barely made it to 15 months, was crushed to death on Saturday morning.
Guyana Times understands that the baby was killed instantly at about 06:30h at his Access Road, Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo home.
Police investigations revealed that the child’s grandparent exited their home to make a purchase from a lorry bearing registration number GVV 363, which was selling cooking gas and kerosene. The child unknowingly ventured out of the yard and went under the vehicle.
It was only when the lorry drove off that they discovered that the child was under the vehicle, but it was too late for little Terrence Wilson, as he was crushed by the left rear wheel of the lorry.
The 15-month old toddler was rushed to the Leonora Cottage Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
His body are presently at the Ezekiel’s Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile, the lorry’s 27-year old driver of North Zeelugt Housing Scheme, EBE, is in custody assisting with the investigation.
Just on Tuesday, Guyana Times had reported that a five-month-old infant was electrocuted at his Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne) home.
Dead is Mason Cush of Lot 207 Number 76 Housing Scheme, Corentyne, Berbice.
Reports are the infant’s mother, Onessa Jackson, 27, took him off her bed at about 12:00h on Tuesday and placed him on the floor as she straightened the bedding.
However, while on the floor, the infant grabbed hold of an electric cable which had tape on a section of the wires which was broken. The infant reportedly made contact with the exposed part of the wire and was helpless; by the time Jackson realised what had happened, the child was electrocuted.
He was rushed to the Skeldon Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The incident was reported to the Police and the mother was taken into custody and later released.
